If you don’t have the materials to make a Soul gun, you can make these for just 1 crystal each. They work just like cryopods, storing creatures inside, but without the timers and need for charging.

Shiny dinos are rare creatures that spawn on maps every 10-20 minutes. They will spawn at levels 150-200 (except tek dinos and wyverns, which can exceed that) and can be tracked easily with a little remote called the Shiny Dino Tracker.

Some dinosaurs are just spawned at a high level with nice color variations not seen in the wild. Even rarer ones will spawn with cool buffs. For example, this ‘Spectral Lymantria’ in the photo to the left. These ghostly dinos are transparent and insubstantial, with an eerie spirit glow. They can fall any distance without being hurt, and they walk in complete silence. Instead of pooping, they will gift you with random things channeled from the spirit plane in the form of spectral poop.

Some of the best items are the armor pieces. For example, the SCUBA tank - the armor can break from taking damage, but as long as it's equipped you will never run out of air! Things like reusable parachutes, spears and bola will help save you a lot of carry weight because you only need one.

Basic traps and house designs can be crafted in your inventory at a very low cost. The more expensive traps (still cheap) are crafted in a workbench. You can create instant shelter or traps. Ideal for your first few days in-game without needing to create thatch huts etc.

The best use of these structures is for trapping, however. With these very cheap and lightweight traps, we hope to create less trap clutter around our servers as they can be picked up in a single action when you have completed your hunting or taming. No need to leave your traps all over the maps so please don’t!

Please note, not all traps work as described in the engram. The bird trap is flawed as a bird trap and they will escape. Instead, you can drop the wooden house on a bird for example. The flawed bird traps do however make excellent traps for the big dinosaurs. Rexes, yuti, sharks, whales etc.

Personally, I drop traps over dinos when taming, not just to trap, some don’t even need traps, but to keep them safe from predators whilst the tame completes so nothing can ruin that 100% effectiveness, or to separate packs of wild dinos fighting each other to death before you get to even tame your target.
